LANSIA SIAGA: Thai Embassy Participates in 9th Anniversary of PTTEP’s Health Clinic

Jakarta – PTTEP’s Gerai Sehat Rorotan (GSR) commemorates its 9th Anniversary. This health clinic, located in North Jakarta, is a health facility that was established in collaboration between Dompet Dhuafa (DD) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP). Also present at this event is the Thai Ambassador to Indonesia Mr. Prapan Disyatat. This activity is a form of the Thai government's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Indonesia within the ASEAN framework, one of which is through PTTEP, the Thai National oil and gas company.

This collaboration between DD and PTTEP started in 2014, both having the same vision and mission regarding the importance of helping underprivileged people who often experience difficulties in accessing good health facilities. Thus, the two of them collaborated by establishing a high-quality health facility in the Rorotan area, North Jakarta.

Nine years have passed, now the clinic has experienced various significant advances, such as being able to provide examinations using BPJS Healthcare, and for underprivileged people who are not registered as a BPJS member, GSR provides health services free of charge.

During the 9th GSR anniversary on Thursday (18/07/2024), DD and PTTEP commemorated it by giving special attention to the elderly, with the theme "LANSIA SIAGA" which is an abbreviation for elderly who are healthy in body and soul. This is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 3, namely promoting good health and well-being.

The series of activities in the Lansia Siaga event included basic medical check-up for hundreds of elderly people living around the GSR clinic. The activity was attended by representatives from the Mayor of North Jakarta Office, North Jakarta Health Department, Cilincing Police Chief, Danramil Cilincing, and other stakeholders who also witnessed the series of activities. Apart from that, the Thai Ambassador to Indonesia and the Thai Ambassador to ASEAN, who were also present, provided assistance to the community around the GSR clinic in the form of medicine packages, diapers for the elderly, and multivitamins. At least 150 elderly people took part in a series of basic medical screening, starting from checking their weight, blood pressure, to further tests such as cholesterol, uric acid and blood sugar.

Ahmad Juwaini, as Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation, expressed his appreciation for the activities carried out, "We express our sincere appreciation to PTTEP, the Thai Embassy, ??and all stakeholders who have supported the implementation of this event. We hope that this excellent program can continue to be implemented and reach underprivileged elderly people throughout the nation," he said.
