PTTEP Indonesia Through PMI, Distributes Donation for those Affected by Earthquake in Cianjur

The Royal Thai Government and the Thai business community in Indonesia have distributed donations to earthquake survivors in Cianjur, West Java through the Indonesian Red Cross. At the same time supporting humanitarian assistance by PMI. The handover was held on 9 December 2022 at the PMI Head Office in Jakarta and was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, and General Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross, Muhammad Jusuf Kalla (JK), as well as representatives from the Thai business community in Indonesia.
PMI Chairman Muhammad Jusuf Kalla (JK) expressed his appreciation and gratitude to donors who had entrusted their assistance to PMI. This donation is a form of human solidarity. Therefore, PMI will channel it as best as possible to help affected communities.
“In the spirit of friendship between our countries, the Royal Thai Government is committing 50,000 US Dollars to the Indonesian Red Cross to respond to immediate needs and provide humanitarian assistance to the affected communities. I am also pleased to announce that the Thai business community in Indonesia has contributed an additional 115 million rupiah to support Indonesian Red Cross’s mission in this regard, namely 75 million rupiah from PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, 20 million rupiah from SCG Indonesia and 20 million rupiah from the Thai Business Club Indonesia. We have faith that the Red Cross will utilize this contribution to the greatest benefit of those in need.” he added.
PMI services have reached at least 113,435 people in Cianjur. While the number of people affected was recorded as 117,068 people or as many as 142,134 families.
So far, PMI has distributed 1.3 million liters of clean water to Cianjur earthquake survivors. While the number of distributed goods reached 19,961 packages. PMI has also built 319 tents at several evacuation points. JK added that the distribution and other services related to the assistance would be carried out for at least six months.
